Finally some smiles!!!

Sydney has been smiling for me occasionally for the past couple of weeks now.  When I break out the camera she gets a little shy and is more entertained by trying to figure out what I have in my hand than smiling.  The other day we were just hanging around the house and I finally got her to smile for me!  I finally have proof! ;)

She isn't centered on the picture because I had to hold the camera off to the side while I made faces at her and talked to her.  Ok...I think it's funny to see the before and afters.  The first picture is before I took the camera away from my face.  The other is where she can see me. :)

Sydney's 2 month check-up

Little Sydney is growing up so fast!  I feel like time has flown by, but I also feel like she's been here forever!  I took her in for her 2 month check up on Friday.  We didn't get to see our normal pediatrician, but one of her associates.  I was kind of bummed, but what can you do?

Anyways, Sydney is weighing in at 9 pounds 13 ounces now and is 21 1/2 inches long!  The doctor said that she is in between the 30th and 40th percentile for both her height and weight.  She had to get a few of the necessary shots, but took them like a champ!  She cried for a second, but was distracted as soon as I broke out something to eat. :)  

It's fun to watch them grow.  I knew she had been growing because she has pretty much grown out of her newborn clothes and has moved on to the 0-3 month outfits now.  She is starting to fill out a lot and has a little Buddha belly on her. :)  She's a lot calmer now than she was when she was a newborn.  She's content just sitting in our arms and watching the world go by.  It makes the day go a little easier when I can put her down somewhere and let her play while I get some things done.  :)

There's nothing worse than sick kids!

Like I said, there is nothing worse than a house full of sick kids.  Especially when you can't give them anything to alleviate their symptoms.  It's awful!  First, Landon had it.  He apparently shared his delightful coughing germs with Sydney who is now all stuffy and coughing like her brother was.  Good grief!  This morning I woke up with a sore throat, so I ate a couple of oranges (like everyday this week) and hopefully I won't catch anything.  I have no time anymore to be sick.

In the middle of being sick, we had to have some fun times.  We were playing around one night trying to get Landon to get us a Pull-up so we could change his pants.  Landon cracked up at this, but when I got the camera he didn't think it was all that funny anymore.  He absolutely wouldn't smile for me but I had to get a picture...could be blackmail one day. ;)

Sleepy Sydney

I just love when a baby falls asleep in your arms, don't you?  It's such a peaceful moment with no crying or fussiness...just sleeping.  I love it.

Sydney was sleeping on me the other day and I took a video of all of her sleepy-time faces.  She does some cute ones when she's sleeping.  She was making more faces than this before I got my phone out, but this is still a cute little snip-it of what she was doing.

** Note:  You will have to imagine that it's right side up. :)  I recorded it from my phone and didn't realize it was upside-down until after I recorded it.  Sorry.

I found the camera cord!! :)

Finally, I found the cord to my camera!  Braydon was hiding it from me. ;)

My mom was trying to make Sydney smile.  She smiled, but by the time I got the camera this was all she would give us. :(  It's okay...we'll get a smiley picture soon enough.

Just to tide you over...

My mom came to visit this week.  It was such a help having her here.  She helped me so much.  We didn't do much but hang out at the house, but Landon had a blast with her and she enjoyed all the baby snuggles she could get from Sydney.  She's already planning her next trip out here. :)

The second my mom walked through the door Landon was attached to her.  He wanted her to play with him and read to him at nap time and bed time.  Braydon finally understood how I feel when he's around.  We both turned into chopped liver while Nonna was here. :)  They had lots of fun together and my mom enjoyed getting to spend so much time with him.

I took lots of pictures while she was here, but I can't find the cord to put the pictures on the computer...so you'll have to wait.  But to tide you over, I did take some funny video of Landon and my mom.  Landon was playing with his iPad (shocker...I know) and making pictures "blow up" on the screen.  He thought it was hilarious and we thought he was hilarious!  Take a look...
