Attention all Sick Bugs....GO AWAY!!!!

Well, no such luck on the eye drops.  We've also accumulated a nasty cough, sore throat, fever, and a sleepless night...goodie. :/  The eye drops have made the yuckiness in his eyes ease up, but they are still red.  My poor little bug...I hate when he's not feeling well.  It makes you, as a parent, feel so helpless.

We took Landon to see Dr. LaCroix today to make sure she couldn't give him any antibiotics and she said it was just viral.  Lucky us...actually, lucky me cause Braydon's supposed to go out of town.  Oh, I'm so excited....(can you sense my sarcasm through the screen?)  Hopefully, he'll get to feeling better soon.  Keep him in your thoughts for a speedy recovery.

Trying to stay well

Well, it was inevitable...the cold weather is settling in. :(  It's not that I don't like cold weather, it's just that the winters are sooooo long here!!!  It's bitterly cold, the snow never goes away, and it's no fun being in the house all day long.  I'm already ready for spring. :)

With the cold weather comes colds, flus and all kinds of sick bugs.  Since Landon's been in preschool, we haven't had too many sick days (thank goodness!), but the past week or so Landon's been feeling a little under the weather.  He's completely normal during the day, but has a hard time sleeping at night. :(  I started noticing his eye oozing and watering a lot, and yesterday it was bright red.  I called the doctor and the on-call nurse called in some eye drops for him.  After the first drop, it isn't oozing anymore and it isn't quite as red.  I'm not sure where he caught that!  I'm just glad it's getting better.

Tomorrow, we are taking more family pictures with Megan.  I'm really excited to see what she comes up with.  She's so creative!  I'm just trying to keep my family (and myself) well so we can enjoy the experience!! :)  Braydon started feeling crummy the other day and I quickly advised him to lay off the coffee and start drinking water and orange juice. :)  I also made him take a nap and now he's feeling a lot better...thank goodness!

I want 50 free cards from Shutterfly! :)

My sorority sister, Courtney, has a blog about her family that I follow.  She posted a blog the other day about Shutterfly offering 50 free cards to people that post about them on their blogs...so I decided to join in and get some awesome free Christmas cards!!!  We need all the help we can get with times being tough, right?

I always order my photo Christmas cards through Shutterfly and they come out beautifully!!  Last year, I ordered this holiday card with a picture of my precious little man on it:

The holiday cards are really nice because, on most of their designs, you can put multiple pictures and write your own message.  They also offer Christmas cards (for the traditionalist), that open up so you can write a special message inside of the card and you still have the choice of getting the multiple pictures on the front.

I love how these cards are completely customizable.  Last year, a friend of mine sent me her Christmas card of her family and it was actually the same card I had, but the background was brown instead of green!  She has really good taste. :)  Even with having the same design, she ended up putting more pictures on hers than I did on mine, so it looked different than mine.  I don't think with all the choices that are offered, any two cards could ever be the same!  I'm trying to make up my mind as to which card I want to use this year, but it's so hard because of all the choices!!!  Here are some of the ones that I'm checking out...super cute!!!! :)

For the past couple years, I've also purchased their personalized calendars.  You can post your own pictures for every month and they just print them out and send them to you.  I ordered my first one as a gift for a friend.  Then I decided to order one for myself, and last year I ordered one for each set of my parents.  Since my little guy is growing up so fast, for each month I put a picture of exactly a year earlier so we can look back and see how much he's changed in just one years time.  Of course, you can put whatever pictures you want, and they even have the multi-photo layout on their calendars too!

My mom also ordered a photo book through them showing Landon's first year of life.  It came out beautifully! It was like having a hard-cover scrapbook.  You can pick your backgrounds, pictures, and even what you want to say on each page.  I love it!!

Week 30...

This week is the start of week 30 of my pregnancy.  I can't believe this pregnancy is almost over!!  It's scary and exciting all at the same time.  We've been working on getting little girl's room ready.  I put some pictures in frames and hung up her clean clothes.  I'm excited to have my baby shower in a couple of weeks to get more things to add to the things I already have.  We don't need much more...just some of the essentials, crib sheets, bassinet sheets, towels, bibs...those sorts of things.  It'll be nice to have everything finished.  I feel like such a slacker with little girl.  When I was pregnant with Landon I had everything done when I was 5 or 6 months along.  I guess that's what happens when you have a toddler though...some things just have to take a back seat.

I wanted to thank my friend, Leslie, for passing down some of the clothes that her girls wore.  She gave me a big box full of clothes, socks, and some blankets.  It was really generous of her. :)

I wanted to share a super cute picture of my boys.  Landon and Braydon took a nap together in Landon's bed the other day and I had to snap a picture of it.  They were just so cute!

The potty training adventures are still continuing.  We've had some people suggest putting underwear on him under his pull-up, hoping that he would feel the sensation of the wet underwear against his skin and not like it. Needless to say, he didn't care....  I'm not giving up, but I'm not sure what else to try. :/  We may just need to keep him going to the potty when we change him and hopefully, eventually, he'll start to understand.  What a pain!!

The adventures continue...

We haven't had much luck with Landon and the potty.  He pretty much dreads it.  Sometimes he'll be fine with it, and other times he cries and throws a fit.  I guess that's the life of a 3 year old though.  He does that with a lot of things now-a-days...like brushing his teeth or picking out a book when it's time to go to bed.  I think he's learning how to make us work on his time. :)

We've really been trying to be diligent about putting Landon on the potty even if we know he's already gone in his pull-up.  We'll have him sit there and sing a song or read a book while we change him and then he gets down.    Most of the time he doesn't go in the potty unless I catch him right after he wakes up or we can tell he's going #2.  He's only went #1 in the potty once, this morning, right after he woke up.  I was so proud of him and congratulated him with a couple of small stickers.

Last night Landon wanted to sit on the potty before he went to bed.  He had one of Braydon's books and took it with him to read.  I had to take some pictures because he looked so grown up. :)

Landon's big boy room!

Since we found out that we were having another little one on the way we had been trying to decide if we wanted to reuse Landon's baby furniture or buy something new for our little girl.  Since Landon's furniture converts from a crib to a toddler bed to a full-sized bed, we had a hard time deciding if we wanted to put Landon in a full-sized bed or if we wanted to get him a twin-sized bed instead.  Since his room is an odd shape we decided to get a smaller bed so his room wouldn't be one big bed. :)  We went to a local furniture store and got some nice furniture that would last him a while.  Eventually his bed will be raised up from the ground more and we can get a trundle to put underneath it.

His room isn't quite finished, but I wanted to share some pictures of Landon's new fish room!!  I think we're going to move the bookcase out so theres more room in there.  The green chair is also going to be moved (into little girl's room).  That way we can put some of his toys in there so he can play in his room.

This is the fish that started the fish fascination...just a picture from a coloring book that we started coloring one day and the fish thing stuck :)

This picture really shows the new furniture...the dresser with mirror and cork board, bed, and nightstand

A good picture of his bedding and matching lamp we found by chance at Target

I painted this growth chart on Landon's wall (I didn't do the fish...those are decals we also found at Target)

The cute lamp that matches his bedding

As you can see there is still some work to be done.  I need to hang more pictures and put up more decals.  I'll post more pictures whenever I'm finished so you can see the final product. :)

Little sister pictures

I went in for my 28 week appointment and got to get an ultrasound and saw how much little girl has grown! She's doing really well, weighing 2 lbs. 10oz. and is starting to get a little chubby.  It was fun to see how much she's grown.

She even gave us a cute little smile! :)

I start going into the doctor every two weeks now...crazy huh?  Soon it will be time to go every week!  I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going.  We painted little girl's room last weekend.  This weekend Landon will get his new "big boy" furniture and we will be moving all of his furniture into little girl's room.  I will take some pictures as we get things together.

Halloween night.....

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!

Our little Cat in the Hat had his first "real" experience with Halloween last night.  He was sick last year and didn't feel up for going out, so this year we got to really make it fun!

We had gone to Target earlier in the day and the girl at the register was asking Landon about Halloween and if he was ready to go trick-or-treating.  He of course shook his head yes, and then told her he was going to be Cat in the Hat.  :)  He was so excited about the idea of dressing up, but when we got him up from his nap and started putting his costume on he apparently had a change of heart!  He didn't want to go anymore!!

Braydon scooting Landon out the door to go trick-or-treating

Landon's not sure about the whole trick-or-treat thing...

Braydon and I knew he would have fun if we just got him out there, so we pushed him a little just to go to a couple of the neighbors houses that we knew.  He got upset at first, but Braydon said he had a blast after he figured out what was going on.  I knew he would like it.  :)  He would help Braydon knock on the door and would take a piece of candy and then say thank you (in sign language, of course).  Braydon said they went to every house in the neighborhood!!

Daddy asking for a piece of candy....

But Landon wanted to share with mom instead. :)

Cute little Cat in the Hat

When he had to come in and eat he kept telling me that he wanted more trick-or-treating!!  I told him that he had already been to all the houses and that he had to wait till next year.  I told him that he could show baby sister how to trick-or-treat next year and that made him happy. :)  I'm so glad that he enjoyed himself so much!!!  I didn't want him to end up being a bump-on-the-log and stay home!  That's no fun!

Checkin' out all his loot

Wanting "more" trick or treating

He did pretty good for his first time! :)

We hope everyone had an awesome Halloween.  I can't believe it's already November!!!  Bring on Turkey Day!  My favorite holiday!!!! :)

Pumpkin carving fun

Saturday we decided to carve our pumpkins...wouldn't want them to go to waste! :)  We thought Landon would really get into playing with the pumpkin "guts", but he didn't want to have anything to do with it!!!  So....Braydon and I went ahead and had some fun with it. :)

I had to take a picture of the inside of this pumpkin!  The sides of it were at least a couple inches thick!

Scooping out the insides

Braydon's pumpkin masterpiece

Maybe next year Landon will be more into it.  Braydon and I had some fun though. :)
